A vital part of our action
Condat’s mill is not only one of the most competitive in Europe but also one of the most environmentally-friendly. In fact, Condat was one of the very first papermakers to be granted ISO 14001 environmental certification, in 2000.

Jean Francois Reynier
Interview

It is now several years since CONDAT first started to apply the principles of sustainable development to both its waste disposal and its sourcing of the pulp for its PEFCTM or FSCTM certified papers and in its campaigns to drive down energy and natural resource consumption.

Since 2005, our efforts in this respect have been recognised through our ISO 14001 certification (2004 version) and our adoption of the European EMAS standard.
Our progress in terms of sustainable development may be charted by all those consulting the environmental statement we produce and post on our website each year. Through this statement it is possible to track the spectacular progress CONDAT has made in relation to its different indicators.”

Our common quality and environment policy

“Not content with its ISO 14 001, EMAS and ISO 9001 certifications, CONDAT has now decided to take matters one step further and to merge its Environment and Quality Management Systems into a single system: SMQE/QEMS (Quality and Environment Management System).

What are the reasons for this decision to combine our Environment and Quality policies?

The two areas are managed along identical lines.
Where Quality is concerned, we begin with the requirements of our customers and then do our utmost to meet them by adopting a Quality-oriented approach at all stages of our production process and in our supporting services. For the Environment, we conduct risk analyses and then set up barriers to reduce environmental impact and ensure compliance with our sustainable development approach.
