| | | Our action Condat and sustainable development
Every year Condat consumes some 300,000 tons of different pulps, most of which come from France, Canada and Latin America. The wood used to produce the pulp comes from 3 main sources: by-products from sawmills: mill residues, wood shavings, etc. left over when preparing wood for use by the joinery, furniture and building trades selective thinning conducted as part of forest husbandry operations forests planted specifically to provide wood for pulp. | | | | Like the rest of the paper industry, Condat is therefore playing its part in encouraging responsible management of forests and forestry industry by-products. In a world that is increasingly conscious of the need for sustainable development, Condat is also acting in the interests of our forests and for the greater social, economic and ecological good. Steps have been to taken to ensure that all pulp suppliers can produce certificates attesting to their control procedures, clearly showing the source of their wood supplies and indicating all the stages in the transfer process from the forest to the Condat plant. | | |
