| | | Our action Air Atmospheric pollution: The only fossil-based primary energy source used at Condat is natural gas. This is used to fuel the boilers to produce steam, the gas turbines to produce electricity, the infrared and hot-air ovens to dry the paper and, lastly, the burners to shrink the material employed to wrap the pallets of paper. Most of the waste produced in the various combustion processes is analysed and measured at the site and regularly checked by an official agency. The results fall within the official limits thanks to the efficiency of our procedures.
The plumes emerging from the mill’s chimneys are, for their part, quite simply vapour from the paper drying process. | | | | Dust: The air discharged by the Condat plant contains virtually no dust, since Condat has invested in Rotoclone systems that filter it out by hydrostatic precipitation. The filtered dust is then centrifugally dried and recovered for recycling in the production process. The air discharged into the atmosphere is therefore dust-free. |
