| | | Lecta, Europe’s 2nd ranking coated paper manufacturer
The Lecta group was created by bringing together three of Europe’s major market players. The group quickly succeeded in carving itself a place among the undisputed leaders of the coated paper market with an annual production capacity of 1,450,000 metric tons. The added weight of being a member of the Lecta group is in part what enables Condat to flag up its ambitions on the market today. Flashback on an international success story. The Lecta group is the result of the gradual association of three of Europe’s leading companies: Italian paper manufacturer Cartiere del Garda acquired in 1997; French paper manufacturer Condat acquired in 1998; Spanish paper manufacturer Torraspapel acquired in 1999. | | | | Today Lecta has a total of 11 production sites, including 6 dedicated exclusively to coated papers. But Lecta is not only a force to be reckoned with industrially. It has also long been committed to an ambitious policy of combining respect for the environment with economic performance. At each of its production sites, Lecta has embarked on a process of: obtaining ISO 14001 certification; developing the use of timber and pulp from sustainably managed forests; using energy produced by cogeneration; reducing water consumption; cutting the amount of waste produced. | | |
