THE ENVIRONMENT – FOR CONDAT A MATTER OF VITAL IMPORTANCE

A subsidiary of the Lecta Group, Europe’s 3rd ranking coated paper manufacturer, since 1998, Condat demonstrates its determination to protect the environment by subscribing to sustainable development at all stages of its activity. Proof of this assertion is the EMAS registration (the European Eco-Management Audit Scheme) received by Condat at the end of 2005 and the certification for its chain of custody for pulp and paper in compliance with PEFC standards and FSC standards obtained in March 2006.

For Condat, the environment is the keystone of its development strategy.     
Promoting sustainable development and improving its performance standards are, for Condat, two of the company’s most important concerns. Condat is committed to enforcing a demanding environmental policy: preventing pollution, transparency in relation to its stakeholders, clients, employees and the official agencies.
As one of the very first papermakers to obtain ISO 14001 certification (in 2000), Condat acquired EMAS registration (Eco Management Audit Scheme) at the end of 2005. Under the EMAS scheme, registered organisations are obliged to conduct an environmental analysis setting out all their activities and the corresponding consequences, and have to make an annual statement on their environmental performance
