10 less trucks per day on the roads: Condat and SNCF join forces in a successful venture.

For several weeks Condat and SNCF have been quietly working together to organise rail carriage of Condat papers. Their efforts have now borne fruit.

The first shipment will take place on 13 July 2006. Every week 9 wagons will set out from Condat for Marseilles, Le Havre and Amiens, making a total of 20,000 tonnes per year.

Condat and Fret SNCF have agreed that these volumes will be raised substantially from 2007, provided that consignments reach their destination on time.

The three-year contract also extends to the carriage of a further 15,000 tonnes of paper pulp to the Condat plant per year. In all, this operation will take at least 10 trucks off the roads each day.
Condat and Fret SNCF are delighted with their new association which should, in the longer term, culminate in more extensive use of rail.
